  • Flutist and improviser justine lee hooper (they/she) explores the music of soul greats, Black spirituals, and meditative improvisations over live looped beats. justine has performed for the United Nations and has been featured in the New York Times, and they have collaborated with artists such as Solange and Key Glock.
    • Armond Dorsey (They/he) is a performer-composer, poet, and theater artist who builds dream-like worlds using spoken word and everyday sounds of Black life to deeply inquire “why not be free?”. For their debut at the Makers' Space, they will perform Black Baby and The Griot: a piece for poet, clarinet, and electronics that flows between structured improvisation and fixed media tracks to tell the story of how a Black person learns how to lucid dream. Watch with open eyes & listen with an open heart~.
    • Ben Mizrach is a saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist whose solo saxophone work aspires towards the transcendental. Utilizing extended techniques inspired from Anthony Braxton, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Albert Ayler among others, he attempts to reconcile ancestral traditions via performance.
